This is code I used in a change process- import a row at a time from Excel and place on a document until no more rows, then close Excel.

the close code was as follows:

'// Close the Excel file without saving (we made no changes)
xlWorkbook.Close

'// Close Excel
Excel.Quit

'// Free the memory that we'd used
Set Excel = Nothing
